Prospanica Holiday Social and Scholarship Fundraiser

Prospanica- Houston chapter hosted an annual fundraising event Thursday, December 14, 2017, in celebration of the holidays to raise scholarship funds for 2018 graduate and undergraduate students.

Who attended the fundraiser event?

Attending this event can be a great networking opportunity for any individual looking for valuable connections.

Recent graduates, local entrepreneurs, and high-level professionals working with reputable national and international businesses attended.

Representatives from Cigna, Deloitte, Univision, ExxonMobil, are just a few to name.

What happened during the fundraiser event?

Prospanica recognized valued sponsors and partners. ExxonMobil, Deloitte, Cigna, UnitedHealth Group, Univision, and Valora Life, as well as university partners like Rice University, St. Thomas University, and the University of Houston, received well-deserved awards!

The networking event lasted about 4 hours, which gives plenty of time to really connect and pursue business, contracts, and arrangements.

Appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks were available. Cocktail drinks were also available for purchase. They played lively music throughout the night and included a photo booth to remember the night!

What is Prospanica?

Prospanica is a national organization that connects Hispanic professionals across the country, including Puerto Rico.

Previously known as NSHMBA, Prospanica was founded in 1988 with the purpose of developing, educating, and associating undergraduate and graduate Latin@s.

Today, Prospanica opens its doors and opportunities to professionals outside of the Spanish-speaking communities.

Why Prospanica?

Prospanica is a membership-based organization, and while membership is not always requested to attend events, there are events and many other perks that are member-exclusive. By attending the events, you can be exposed to high-level employment opportunities, receive career guidance, and grow your network with people from every industry with whom you can collaborate with.

Prospanica has partnerships with companies in almost every industry. You name it, and they are probably associated with them… seriously! Not to mention, if you relocate or travel, you can reach out to chapters and members outside of Houston and also make connections elsewhere.

The Holiday social was definitely an eye-opener for me. I’ve been associated with many networking organizations, and by far, Prospanica has impressed me the most with their growing network, partners, and sponsors.

Prospanica- Houston hosts events and workshops every month. Some events cost as little as 10 dollars for non-members or can be free for members.

Exchange business cards with other professionals and stay connected even after the occasion.
